What timing!!! I lost my recipe for both and had just run out! Since we were heading to town tomorrow for our monthly shopping trip I was getting ready to start the search all over again!! Looking forward to making up a batch of tortillas this weekend as well.

I just found your site via foodgawker.com. I love the layout and pictures. I’m looking forward to making the taco seasoning mix as we use it pretty regularly and I know the store bought stuff is full of sodium and nasty things. Thanks for sharing your stuff!

I can’t wait to try these!! I have been dumping a little of each component in my recipes trying to get the result w/o the junk that comes in the pre-made mixes—with inconsistant results (hhhmmm go figure!) I will have to add some ground ancho too though!! yum!

In the Taco Seasoning recipe you have 1/4 crushed red pepper. I’m guessing you mean 1/4 teaspoon of it, right?

    Thanks!

Carolyn: Oops! Yes, I intended it to be 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper. Thanks for the heads up!

What a great idea. I will have to make up a batch of both of these when I run out of the store bought stuff.

Do you happen to have a recipe for pot roast — like you get in the packages?

Kirisi: Sorry to say, I don’t have a recipe for pot roast. That would be a handy recipe to have…
